Ponderings, Poems & Practices
for Living Your Brilliance!
Hello Preciousness,
This morning, as I went outside to play with Bo (our pooch for this month,) I stepped into the rain-drenched grass with my feet-bare, I was instantly surprised and delightfully astonished by the pleasure my feet felt as they sunk into the thick, wet, cool grass. Ahhhhhhhh. For a moment the experience my feet were having was my entire world.
In the past I’ve been called a “sensation junkie” by several people who love and adore me. Indulging in the delight of sensations is not new to me. But this morning, when I felt that grass under my feet, that moment became extraordinarily fresh and new. That luscious grass was an instant love-bomb.
That grassy moment was a sweet reminder that the natural world is always available with an invitation to slip into an intimate moment of presence.
* A snow flake caressing a face
* Mud squishing between toes
* Fireside warmth penetrating skin
* Raindrops tap-dancing on top of a head
* Sunbeams soothing a back
* Sand massaging feet
* A breeze kissing a check
* Hot bath water embracing a body
Dear One, today, even if it’s just for a brief moment, give yourself the gift of being loved by the natural world and reminded of how extraordinary this very moment is.
