It’s Simple, But It’s Not Easy

Hello dear hearts,

A few nights ago I had one of those night where my mind twirled as my body tossed and turned.

It was close to 3AM when I gave up the internal “talk-myself-into-sleep” conversation.   Sitting in the dark stillness of the kitchen I finally gave my attention to the knot that had been twisting in belly the past couple hours.  “Ok”, I thought, “Here’s some energy that wants to move”.     I know how to do that!

It’s simple to move energy.  Simple, but not always easy.

The voices in my head started coming up with a lot of great ideas …..
“Hey, first, let’s have a snack.”
“No, we’re not having a snack. We’re not even hungry.  Let’s take a moment to feel this.”

“Well, shouldn’t we figure out what this knotty belly is all about before we move that energy?”
“Remember, we’ve been down that road before. It’s really not so interesting.”

“Ya know, this is a great time to check your email for the 1:30am housesitting listings. There could be something we just don’t want to miss out on.”
“Yep, we could do that.  Yep, we might miss out.  But let’s go feel that energy instead.”

“ WTF, It’s the middle of the night. Wait until morning. Go back to bed!!!”
“If I just moved that stuck energy I’d probably go right to sleep when I crawled back in bed.”

I know the freedom on the other side of feeling it all but those crazy voices of resistance can be just like that; stubborn, persistent, and making so much sense.   Sometimes it’s not easy to turn to freedom.

But it is simple.

I drew on my superpower called “Just Do It.”

I stomped. I wailed. I intensified that belly sensation as much as I could.

The tightness let go of me.
My belly softened.
I laughed.
I went back to bed and dropped into the sweetest deep sleep.

It’s simple, but it’s not easy.

Feeling it all and sending you love,
Sharon
